The U.S. Embassy Announces the Hubert Humphrey Fellowship Program

Muscat -- The United States Embassy announces the opening of the application season for the Hubert Humphrey Fellowship Program.  The Humphrey Fellowship is a one year exchange program that brings mid-level professionals to the U.S. for academic study and research.  Any Omani citizen with a bachelor's degree, five years of professional experience, and a TOEFL score of 550 or above can apply for the program, which is fully funded by the U.S. Department of State.  Interested applicants should apply online at http://client.wbai.com/hhh by September 1, 2008. U.S. Olympians: Aged to Perfection

When Libby Callahan, a sport pistol shooter, steps into the field of competition at the 2008 Olympic Games, she’ll be making history and also highlighting a trend in the United States team for the games.

At age 56, Callahan will become the oldest woman to compete in the Olympic Games for the United States.

Athletes Can Give Back Through “Team for Tomorrow”

When America’s Olympic and Paralympic athletes like softball pitcher Jennie Finch and wheelchair track and road racer Cheri Blauwet leave Beijing, each will bring the spirit of the Olympic Movement back to their communities through the U.S. Olympic Committee’s “Team for Tomorrow” fund. 

Team for Tomorrow is a new humanitarian relief effort through which U.S. athletes will offer assistance and support to people around the world who are in need. (more)
